Artificial abrasive products are mainly divided into two categories: corundum abrasives and silicon carbide abrasives. Specifically, there are basically the following types:


Brown corundum abrasive, mainly composed of Al2O3, features medium hardness, high toughness, sharp particles and relatively low price. It is suitable for processing metals with high tensile strength. Microcrystalline corundum abrasives and black corundum abrasives are both its derivative varieties.


2. White corundum abrasive has a slightly higher hardness than brown corundum, but its toughness is poorer. It is prone to cutting into the workpiece during grinding, has good self-sharpening properties, generates less heat, has strong grinding ability and high efficiency. Chromium corundum abrasive is its derivative variety.


3. Single crystal corundum abrasive, its particles are composed of a single crystal, and it has good multi-faceted cutting edges, high hardness and toughness, strong grinding ability, and low grinding heat generation. The disadvantages are that the production cost is relatively high and the output is low, so the price is relatively high. Zirconia corundum abrasive is also a crystalline compound, with slightly lower hardness, finer crystal size and good wear resistance.


4. Black silicon carbide abrasives, green silicon carbide abrasives, cubic silicon carbide abrasives, cerium silicon carbide abrasives, etc., belong to silicon carbide abrasives. Their main component is silicon carbide (SiC). They have high hardness, great brittleness, sharp abrasive grains, good thermal conductivity, and strong wear resistance. They are more suitable for processing hard and brittle metal and non-metal products.


It is suitable for surface deburring, chamfering, oxide scale removal and surface polishing of products in industries such as machinery, electronics, metal parts, hardware, tools, auto parts, instruments and meters, casting, medical care and craft ornaments.
